Residential Specialist

As such, we will focus on a patient-centered experience and ensure a patient’s whole health needs are fully met, including biopsychosocial needs.
The Residential Specialist will collaborate with other clinical team members to provide best-practice care with an innovative spirit and help drive a holistic approach to care and reduce stigma. At the same time, the RS will be comfortable working in ambiguous situations and blend best-in-class care delivery models with advanced technology solutions to engage care team members, improve outcomes, and reduce costs.
The Residential Specialist is a member of the larger OneFifteen team and provides services for those experiencing substance use and/or co-occurring mental health and substance use. The RS provides direct and indirect patient care to include comfort to patients and ensures a safe, clean environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health support within an adult residential setting.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify participant behaviors that require intervention.
- Escort participants when leaving the residential unit for activities, meals, visitation, and scheduled tests as required by their level of care.
- Perform participant safety checks at scheduled times and documents appropriately.
- Orient participants to services when entering treatment
- Participate in treatment team meetings. Communicate appropriately and clearly to the treatment team including supervisors and other direct care staff.
- Perform observation rounds and documents appropriately.
- Provide appropriate assistance during emergencies.
- Encourage or assist participants to perform daily living activities.
- Facilitate participant rules and responsibilities.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff members as needed.
- Assist with skills and recreational groups as directed
- Provide one-on-one observation and constant visual observation for high-risk participants.
- Record data track reports accurately and completely.
- Assist with urine drug screen collection.
- Support proper discharge planning and linkage to additional resources as needed.
- Assure documentation is completed per regulatory and agency requirements following best practices.
- Complete documentation within a specified timeframe using Electronic Medical Records.
- Attend required meetings, including individual and group supervision, treatment team meetings, training, and community events as appropriate.
- Establish relationships and communicate with stakeholders and referral sources.
- Understand and adhere to HIPAA and 42 CFR laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge and experience in substance use and mental health treatment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong teamwork and organization/time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills, which include documentation within an electronic health record.
- Participate in a work culture that influences others in the multidisciplinary team.
Minimum:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Recreational Therapy, or other appropriate therapeutic field.
- CDCA certification preferred.
- Training and knowledge of detoxification services, such as Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioids and other drugs.
- Availability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.
- Work Setting: Indoors, environmentally controlled
- Body Positioning: § Spend time sitting and standing, making repetitive motions, spend time using hands to handle, control ,or feel objects, tools ,or controls. Frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.

FT (40 hours) Tues-Fri 10p-8a
PT (24 hours) Sat-Mon 12a-8a
Shift Differential for any hours worked between 10p and 6a as well as additional Shift Differential for hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
